SwayPod considers natural human processing variation in a unique and fun way. Incorporating oscillation into general learning spaces is vastly uncommon. But why? Occupational Therapy, specifically in educational settings, includes oscillatory motion within sessions that are accessed outside of general learning environments. SwayPod rewrites the script on therapeutic supports and how they can be inclusively used for various learner profiles across multiple learning spaces. Oscillation assists with physical skills such as balance, coordination, and strength. It supports cognitive development by synchronizing and coordinating neural activity. Oscillatory movement has been incorporated within therapeutic strategies for individuals with cognitive differences, offering non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS). NIBS highlights multi-therapeutic and alternative supports for learners with ASD, other cognitive diagnoses, and the general learning population.
